School Choice: Giving Families the Power to Choose
The power to choose what’s best for your child is a fundamental right that should never be taken away. In El Dorado County, we have been pioneers in school choice, opening one of the first charter school’s in the state through our County Office of Education. This gave families the freedom to select the best educational path for their children. However, this progress is now under threat. Teacher unions and certain political factions are actively working to restrict school choice, believing that the state should have more control over our children’s education than the parents themselves.
As a candidate for the El Dorado County Office of Education Board, I believe that you, the parents, should have the final say in your child’s education. School choice means that you can find the school that aligns with your family’s values, your child’s learning needs, and your educational priorities. It’s about empowering parents, not government bureaucrats, to make decisions about their child’s future.
If elected, I will be a staunch advocate for school choice, fighting to preserve and expand this critical right. I will push back against any effort to limit parental control over education and ensure that families continue to have access to charter schools, homeschooling, and other alternative educational options.
Our children deserve to learn in environments that set them up for success—environments that meet their unique needs and foster their growth. By supporting school choice, we encourage innovation in education, create competition that improves all schools, and ensure that no family is forced into a one-size-fits-all system that doesn’t work for them.
Vote for Rachel Librach and empower your family with the right to choose the best educational environment for your child. Stand with me in defending school choice and keeping the power where it belongs: with the parents.
