Protecting Our Children’s Futures: Why Core Academics Matter
In today’s world, classrooms are filled with distractions—technology, social pressures, and curriculum shifts that sometimes steer focus away from what truly matters. But at the heart of any successful education system are the core academic subjects that have been the foundation of learning for generations: math, reading, and science. These subjects are not just abstract concepts but are the building blocks for critical thinking, problem-solving, and the development of lifelong skills.
I’m Rachel Librach, and if elected to the El Dorado County Office of Education Board, I will ensure that our schools are laser-focused on these core academic subjects. Every child deserves the chance to master these critical areas of learning, as they lay the groundwork for their future success, no matter which career path they choose.
Why do core academics matter? First and foremost, these subjects equip students with the ability to analyze, reason, and communicate effectively—skills that are essential for any profession. Whether students go on to pursue a degree in engineering, business, the arts, or a trade, they will need a strong understanding of mathematics, the ability to communicate clearly, and a scientific mindset that allows them to understand and navigate the world around them. Core academics are not just subjects—they are tools for success.
I am committed to ensuring that El Dorado County schools prioritize core academics and provide students with the support and resources they need to excel in these areas. By focusing on the fundamentals, we can prepare our students for the future, giving them the skills to succeed in college, in their careers, and in life.
Call to Action: Join me, Rachel Librach, in refocusing our classrooms on the fundamentals of learning. Together, we can ensure that every student in El Dorado County has the strong academic foundation they need for future success. Vote for me, and let’s put core academics back at the heart of our schools.
