Transparency in Schools: Keeping Parents Informed and Involved
Education should never be a mystery. As parents, we deserve to know what our children are learning, how they’re progressing, and what decisions are being made about their future. Unfortunately, too often, critical decisions about curriculum, policies, and school activities are made behind closed doors, leaving parents out of the loop. This lack of transparency weakens the bond of trust between families and schools and undermines the effectiveness of our educational system.
I’m Rachel Librach, and I’m running for the El Dorado County Office of Education Board because I believe in complete transparency between schools and parents. Every parent should have full access to information about their child’s education. Whether it’s about curriculum updates, school safety policies, or student progress, parents have the right to be informed and involved in every aspect of their child’s learning journey.
Transparency fosters trust, and trust is the cornerstone of a successful partnership between parents and educators. When schools are transparent, parents feel more connected and engaged. They can support their children’s learning more effectively and work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to address challenges. But transparency doesn’t just happen on its own—it requires a commitment to open communication, regular updates, and accessible decision-making processes.
As your representative on the El Dorado County Office of Education Board, I will push for open communication channels between schools and families. I will advocate for regular updates on school policies, easily accessible information about curriculum changes, and more opportunities for parents to voice their concerns and ideas. Together, we can build a more transparent, accountable education system where parents are active participants, not bystanders.
Call to Action: Join me, Rachel Librach, in demanding transparency from our schools and putting parents back in control. Vote for me, and together we will create an educational environment where families are always informed, involved, and empowered.
